Liverpool have received information that a £70 million offer could secure the signing of Cheick Doucoure from Crystal Palace. Jurgen Klopp is prepared to approach the club’s leadership to secure funds for the acquisition of the dynamic Mali midfielder.

Following significant departures from their midfield over the summer, Liverpool is determined to reinforce that area. Despite bringing in Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Waturu Endo, they remain three players short compared to the previous season.

Unexpectedly, Liverpool also faced the departures of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to Saudi Arabia. Despite adding Japan’s Waturu Endo, Klopp intends to bring in at least one more midfielder during this transfer window.

Numerous top players have been linked to Liverpool, including Ryan Gravenberch, who reportedly wishes to leave Bayern Munich following Liverpool’s interest. Additionally, the club has shown interest in Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat, although the player seems to prefer a move to Manchester United.

Cheick Doucoure, a 23-year-old defensive midfielder, impressed during his debut season in the Premier League after his £21 million move from Lens the previous summer. Named Crystal Palace’s Player of the Year, Doucoure quickly became a vital part of the team.

While the transfer fee might appear substantial at £70 million, Liverpool’s urgency has increased after missing out on other targets. Klopp is determined not to repeat the mistakes made in previous transfer pursuits and aims to swiftly secure Doucoure’s signing. He is urging Liverpool’s management to meet Crystal Palace’s asking price.

Although Liverpool has a game against Bournemouth coming up, Klopp envisions having Doucoure in the squad for the subsequent match against Newcastle at St James’ Park.

Doucoure currently earns £60,000 weekly at Crystal Palace and is under contract until 2027. A move to Anfield would almost double his salary, with reports suggesting a substantial weekly package of £100,000.
